Fatima Madrigal and Robert Trujillo had a son and a daughter, twins, but their birth certificates will have different years, months, and days.
The woman was admitted to the hospital just before New Year’s Eve. The couple knew they would have twins, but they never imagined what a surprise their children had in store for them. Their son, named Alfredo, was born on the eve of the holiday – on December 31 at 11:45 pm, while his sister Eileen appeared just after the clock struck midnight. So, her birthdate is January 1, 2022.
Moreover, Eileen is the first child born in this medical center in 2022.
“For me, it’s amazing that they are twins and they have different birthdays. I was happy that my daughter was born after midnight,” said the happy mother.
Clinic staff were also surprised by the situation.
“These were the most memorable births in my career. It was an absolute pleasure to help these babies safely arrive here in 2021 and 2022. What an amazing way to start the New Year!” said Ana Abril Arias, the family doctor at the center.
Fatima and Robert already have three children: two daughters and a son. As the woman explained, her son was especially looking forward to adding a brother to the family.”
